Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings

Evoke Energy Yoga offers Yin & Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings via the Baptiste Methodology. Evoke Founders, Brandy Berlin & Suzy Aragon are experienced Certified Baptiste Yoga Teachers who are passionate about making Yin & Yoga Nidra accessible to all students of yoga. Trainings are customized to meet the needs of your 200 & 300 hour programs or as a stand alone workshop. Check out our website Evokeenergyyoga.com.

Yin Yoga is one of the fastest growing styles of yoga and helps nourish and tone connective tissue, fascia, ligaments and tendons which are critical to our physical well-being and range of motion. Postures are practiced on the floor and each is held for 3-5 (or more) minutes. As a result, the body is energized and rejuvenated by encouraging a free flow of chi/prana—the “life force” that often gets blocked or stagnant thus contributing to dis-ease.

IN OUR YIN TRAININGS YOU WILL:

  • Learn about what Yin Yoga is, why to practice it, and how it works both physically and energetically

  • Establish a safe practice using compression and tension

  • Gain an understanding of energy/prana/chi and the meridians and connective tissues

  • Explore Yin Yoga poses using a functional versus an aesthetic approach

  • Learn to teach Yin classes using the Baptiste methodology including: pose sequencing, leading poses, transitions, counterposes, shaping the energetic container of a class, techniques for leading classes in-studio, via Zoom and concurrently.

  • Practice Yin Yoga, practice teach and receive specific, concrete feedback to inform your future teaching

  • Receive a training manual what covers the content as well as additional resources

YIN I Immersion
Online via Zoom

Sunday, December 13, 9-5p PST

This training begins with a 60-75 minute Yin practice followed by an in-depth lecture/discussion of the what, why, how, history and philosophy of Yin Yoga with extra emphasis on exploring physiology - and plenty of time for questions before a lunch break. After lunch, we examine and experience the 7 archetypal Yin Yoga poses and ‘Wall Yin’. We will then take a short break before coming back to learn how to teach Yin using the Baptiste methodology including tips for customizing and making your classes extra special. We finish with multiple rounds of practice teaching, feedback and ‘what’s next?’

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”

— GOSPEL OF THOMAS

  • Have you experienced healing through your yoga practice and want to explore it more?

  • Are you active and on the go and know ya need to slow down?

  • Have you craved stillness and rejuvenation and you haven’t been feeding these requests for self-care?

  • Will you commit to yourself and your students - by practicing and leading yin, meditation, breathwork and other energy medicine practices?

  • Do you want to love, support, educate and lead classes full of people seeking alternatives to the western therapeutic approach?

  • Are you willing to inspire your students to tend to themselves and their families in ways that can affect generations?

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This is an invitation for all yoga students and teachers into your inner space. It's for those who can no longer deny the call to explore, experience - and perhaps even evangelize -  the profound power of stillness. Using the Baptiste methodology as a framework, it a journey in our power through the stillness found within the practices of Yin Yoga, breathwork, meditation, inquiry and other energy medicines.

It is for those who have moved too fast and done too much and find themselves exhausted, out of energy and out of balance. It's for those who need to shift it down a couple gears and drop-in to self-care.

It training is for anyone who desires a deeper connection and conversation with their true Self as an energetic, spiritual being having a beautiful, baffling human experience. It’s for those who want to see beyond the veil and look into the eyeballs of the Divine as it moves through them - as them. It’s for those who know in the center of their chest they have been wholly called forth to rebirth ancient and sacred wisdom into the world. If you do not wish to teach and simply desire to deepen your knowledge and expand your experiences, you are absolutely welcome to grab your pool noodle and jump into the waters of this training!

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING? WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

Stilling, moving, meditating, praying, playing, singing, laughing, crying, breathing and being.

We will be practicing a lot of yin, discussing our experiences and insights from practice, and practice teaching with feedback. We will engage in lecture and discussions, individual explorations, pair, small group and large group sharing, and doing exercises and and drills. We will be learning and teaching each other all the time.

We will be engaging in wisdom practices to clean up the debris and emotional backwash that clouds our consciousness. During this time, you will commit to take care of your divine-ass self, brush your teeth and engage in other daily physical, energetic and emotional hygiene.

We will be examining the physiology and philosophy of Yin as inspired by Paul Grilley and Bernie Clark. In each of the modules we will be focusing on a chakra using both Carolyn Myss and Anodea Judith's teachings.

You will leave this training with a deeply connection yourself and your yoga practice and feel confident in your ability to lead impactful Yin classes using the Baptiste methodology.

A lifelong educator, E-RYT 500 and Tier 3 Certified Baptiste Yoga Teacher, Brandy Berlin has a heart for authentic connection. As co-owner of Namaspa Yoga Community and Evoke Energy Yoga, Brandy leads lovingly fierce classes, workshops, trainings and retreats that invite all humans to break open their forbidden happiness and lead more empowered lives. Brandy believes together the teacher and the taught do the teaching, and her powerfully playful and often comically introspective offerings leave space for her students to lean in, grow, transform and heal. A grateful student of her primary teachers Baron Baptiste and Suzie Newcome, Brandy uses the Baptiste methodology to support teachers in purposefully and masterfully shaping the energy in their classrooms in ways that leave students feeling nourished, revitalized, and empowered. This training is also largely influenced by the work of Paul Grilley, Bernie Clark, Caroline Myss, Andeo Judith, Brene Brown and Marianne Williamson. It is ultimately grounded in the learnin’ and lovin’ harvested from Brandy’s 20 years of being with people as a high school social studies teacher and requisite humorist.
